Following the appointment ceremony of the Alumni Association of School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University and the founding ceremony of its secretariat, the founding ceremony of the Alumni Association Council of School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University was held in the meeting room 1200, at Wenke Building, Shenzhen University on June 15, 2013. More than 50 distinguished alumni attended the meeting, including Wang Qin, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University; Ms. Zhou Wei (the general manager of Genesis Property Limited Company), president of the Alumni Association of the School of Foreign Languages; Chen Wensheng (the chairman of Shenzhen Marco Polo Hotel), the honorary president of the School of Foreign Languages; and Peng Siyang (the secretary-general of Longcheng Street Federation of Industry and Commerce, Longgang District, Shenzhen), the honorary president of the School of Foreign Languages.
The meeting was chaired by Yu Qingfeng (the chairman of Shenzhen Haoyangguang International Travel Service Limited Company), the secretary-general of the Alumni Association of the School of Foreign Languages. At the meeting, Wang Qin, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University, first delivered a speech, expressing gratitude on behalf of the School of Foreign Languages to the alumni who had returned to the university for a meeting and expressing hope for the establishment of the Alumni Association Council, wishing that the Alumni Association will go forward under the operation of the Council, and presented letters of appointment to honorary presidents Chen Wensheng, Peng Siyang, and other distinguished alumni.
At the meeting, Ms. Zhou Wei, the president of the Alumni Association, presented letters of appointment to vice presidents, deputy secretaries-general, executive directors, and directors of the Alumni Association Council. She also expressed her wishes that the Alumni Association can be more standardized and mature in the future, and then she took the lead in donating membership fees to the Alumni Association. Other members also expressed their opinions and actively donated membership fees. At the meeting, participants also discussed the "Alumni Return Day" activity plan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Shenzhen University.
The major outcome of the meeting was the wish that the Alumni Association of the School of Foreign Languages could better convey the past feelings on campus and positive energy that can inspire others after the improvement of the organization and lead more alumni to return to the campus and participate in the 30th anniversary celebration of Shenzhen University.
