The National English Public Speaking Contest Final for College Students was held in Beijing in December, 2017. Before that, representatives of Shenzhen University, Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology participated in the competition in Guangdong Division. And Huang Yulin, a student of bilingual English-French major from the School of Foreign Languages of our university, got the best results in three consecutive competitions. She represented the Guangdong Division to participate in the National English Public Speaking Contest organized by the FLTRP(Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press) in Beijing and won the first prize, which is a credit to universities in Guangdong. And heartfelt thanks to all the teachers who participated in the recommendation, selection and training, as well as those who care about and support the students!
16 years have passed since the “FLTRP Cup” National English Public Speaking Contest was founded in 2002. The increasingly open and inclusive policies about contestants as well as the incessant innovation and upgrading of the competition system make it the English Speaking Contest with largest number of participants, the largest scale, and the highest level, providing a rich and colorful self-display stage for national university students.
Our university has participated in the “FLTRP Cup” National English Public Speaking Contest for more than 10 years, and the results of this session recorded high again. The challenges and competition among contestants have promoted learning and teaching. As frenemies, they exchange and collide with each other. Ten years of practice have not been wasted, and the splendid moments on the stage have incisively shown their talent. Multiple universities and teachers together complement each other by exchanging ideas and discuss educational trends with mutual assistance.In the name of challenge, with the skills of competition, we will realize the dream of the reform and development of Chinese Foreign Language Education together with various parties. And welcome more students to participate in the next competition!
