School of Foreign Languages June, 2019
On the afternoon of June 25th, Mr. Zhang Zhicong, chairman of Anzhou Co., LTD and member of the Standing Committee of The CPPCC of Nanshan District, visited the School of Foreign Languages. Dean Zhang Xiaohong, Secretary of School Party Committee Qiu Jiangping, Associate Dean Hu Yijie and some teachers and student representatives from SFL attended the symposium.
Mr. Zhang Zhicong expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to come to Shenzhen university. He chatted with teachers and fellow students and shared his life experiences with them. He mentioned that he is a native of Shekou, and he has made a career in Hong Kong thanks to the coincidence of historical opportunities. The tough growing environment has honed his skills as an entrepreneur. Now he is doing more to pay attention to and help people in need, such as people in nursing homes and poor students. He also hopes to take this opportunity to set up the "Zhicong Love Fund", which plans to donate one million yuan. The donation was entrusted to the operation and management of trusted partner institutions, and advice was solicited on the spot on the use of the love fund. Teachers and students have put forward suggestions. Work-study positions, financial aid for poor students and the establishment of international exchange scholarships have become the focus of discussion.
Looking forward to the future, Dean Zhang Xiaohong expressed the hope that "Zhicong Love Fund" can help more SFL students solve the financial problem and realize their dreams, and promised to spend every penny of entrepreneur's donation to students. Secretary of School Party Committee Qiu Jiangping also expressed his gratitude to Mr. Zhang Zhicong for his support and the society's trust in the School of Foreign Languages.
