School of Foreign Languages November, 2019
From November 21st to 22nd, 2019, the 2019 International Cigar Expo was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. The School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University actively responded to the event and offered its full support, carefully organizing and selecting 13 excellent teachers and students proficient in English and Spanish as volunteers to the site. After the expo, the Shenzhen Branch of China National Tobacco Corporation sent a letter of appreciation to our school.
The expo was jointly sponsored by the Shenzhen Branch of China National Tobacco Corporation and the China Cigarette Sales Corporation. It attracted more than 80 cigar and cigar-supporting enterprises from 133 countries and regions around the world. There were more than 5,000 domestic and foreign businessmen as well as professional visitors attending the exhibition.
The successful holding of the expo is inseparable from the hard work of the staff. The excellent volunteers of the School of Foreign Languages showed great cooperative spirits, superb professional skills, excellent communicative abilities as well as full enthusiasm when assisting in the translation work or providing reception and interpretation services for domestic and foreign guests and merchants. Although there were many difficulties such as urgent time and heavy tasks, the volunteers overcame them one by one and devoted themselves wholly to the work. Their busy figures became the beautiful scenery at the expo, and their sincere smiles left a deep impression on each visitor.
With the joint efforts of the volunteers and the staff of the School of Foreign Languages, the 2019 International Cigar Expo was a complete success. In the future, the School of Foreign Languages will continue to encourage teachers and students to actively participate in volunteer services, and to achieve self-improvement while serving others.
