Shenzhen University convened an academic conference, "The Greater Bay Area Innovation-Driven Summit on Area Studies & International Communication," on May 24, drawing over 200 scholars and industry leaders to discuss the region's role in shaping global narratives.

The summit, organized by the University's Institute of Area and International Communication Studies and its College of International Studies, focused on leveraging the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area's innovative capacity to develop new models for global engagement.
It brought together scholars from leading institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Jinan University, Nanning Normal University, Fuzhou University, Fujian Jiangxia University, Shenzhen University, University of Macau, and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 
The event was also attended by professionals from organizations including China Central Television, Dongguan New Kinetic Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Anshida International Talent Group.

In his opening address, Li Yonghua, Vice President of Shenzhen University, emphasized the institution's commitment to international academic exchange and called for innovative approaches to international communication that support national strategic goals.

During a plenary session chaired by Xu Man, Executive Dean of the Institute, four experts delivered keynote speeches. 
Researcher Huang Ping from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences addressed the importance of transcending cultural barriers. Li Wei, General Manager of Shenzhen Xunyang International Logistics, discussed challenges in cross-border business and called for stronger industry-academia collaboration. 
Professor Zhong Ling from Shenzhen Technology University outlined strategies for aligning foreign language education with the Greater Bay Area's talent needs. Zeng Bang, Director of Jilian Group, analyzed global trends in Chinese manufacturing.

Concurrent panel sessions featured discussions on educational transformation and global strategy. 
Professor Chang Fuliang from Beijing Foreign Studies University highlighted AI's potential in language education. Professor Feng Shounong from Renmin University of China advocated for cultivating interdisciplinary talent. 
Professor Chen Hongbo from Nanning Normal University proposed methods to enhance international communication efficacy, while Professor Chen Yiping from Jinan University analyzed global market opportunities for Chinese enterprises.

The forum served as a platform for in-depth dialogue between academia and industry, aiming to generate fresh perspectives for regional studies and provide intellectual support for the Greater Bay Area's development.
