Dr. Shang Xiaoqi obtained his Ph.D. in interpreting studies at Shanghai International Studies University. He is currently an associate professor and MA supervisor in the College of International Studies at Shenzhen University. He had previously worked for Sun Yat-sen University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) before joining Shenzhen University. His major research interest lies in Translation and Interpreting(T&I) testing and assessment. He has published articles in leading academic journals such as Asia Pacific Education Researcher, Target, The Interpreter and Translator Trainer, Perspectives and Chinese Translators Journal. Dr. Shang is the Principal Investigator of a National Grant of Humanities and Social Sciences tilted “Modelling Aptitude Testing for Interpreting”. He also serves as a part-time interpreter for government agencies, universities and businesses. He mainly teaches courses such as Liaison Interpreting, Consecutive Interpreting and Conference Interpreting.
