Zhang Guangkui is Professor of English Literature at Shenzhen University, and the director of the Centre for Poetry and Drama. He received his BA at Shandong University, obtained Ph.D. from Sun Yat-sen University, and did post-doctoral research in aesthetics in Nankai University. He is a scholar in poetry studies and a keen practitioner of poetry performance, also a poet with several Chinese and English publications of poetry anthologies, as well as a translator of poetry, an editor of poetry journal Verse Version. Prof. Zhang has published more than 60 academic articles with international and Chinese journals such as Foreign Literature Studies, Foreign Languages Research, Foreign Languages Teaching, Verse Version, etc. He has been teaching obligatory courses on undergraduate and graduate levels including British Literature, American Literature and English Poetry and Poetics.
