He won Outstanding Talent of the Ministry of Education in the New Century, and he is a renowned scholar in systemic functional linguistics, the chairman of the Committee of Functional Linguistics of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, and an executive member of the International Systemic Functional Linguistics Association. He has published more than 140 research papers, including over 70 papers in SSCI- and A&HCI-indexed journals and 32 monographs/edited books/translated books.
