Administration and memberships
1.When at Hunan Normal University, served as Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, member of the Academic Committee and Degree Conferring Committee of the University; among the first group of doctoral supervisors, selected as “the first batch of the 100 backbone teachers of Hunan Province”, Vice president of the Translation Association of Hunan Province.
2.From the year of 2002, worked with Beijing Language and Culture University, and served as Dean of the College of Foreign Languages of the university till 2014. Recipient of the Special Subsidiary for Outstanding Experts awarded by the State Council of China. He was the leader in the successful application for the authorization of doctoral degree of the English Language, and the authorization of doctoral degree of the Foreign Languages as a first-tier discipline at Beijing Language and Culture University. He was a member of the Academic Committee and the vice director of this Committee；Director of the Scientific Research and Arbitration Section. Member of the Degree Conferring Committee of the University; member of the Committee for Directing China’s Foreign Language Teaching and Learning; Member of MLA, US.; Executive Member of China National Association of Foreign Literature Studies; Vice-President of the Association of British Literature Studies; Executive Member of the Association of American Literature Studies; Executive Member of the Association of China English Teaching and Learning Studies; Executive Member of the Association of Narrative Studies; Executive Member of the Association of Bakhtinian Studies; Member of the Evaluation Committee of Academic Journals on Foreign Literatures Attached to the Evaluation Academy of CASS.
