He studied in the English Department of the School of Foreign Languages of Wuhan University and obtained a master's degree. In 2003, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Lancashire, UK. He taught in the English Department of Three Gorges University from 1986 to 1989, taught in the English Department of Three Gorges University from 1992 to 1994, and taught in Shenzhen University from 1994 to today. He is currently an associate professor of the Second Department of College English, School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University.
