The East Asian Studies Center of the School of Foreign Languages of Shenzhen University was established in June 2016. Based in Shenzhen, the center focuses on East Asia and the world, explores the general characteristics of East Asian social culture, delves into the internal mechanisms of its cultural flows and development, looks for new fields in East Asian Research in the new era, and contributes to regional education and cultural construction by using the research methodologies of literature, history, philosophy and other fields in the humanities and social sciences. The center actively promotes exchange and cooperation both at home and abroad, and invites scholars from home and abroad to join in exchange and cooperative research. All members of the center have doctoral degrees. Their research fields cover literature, linguistics, education, philosophy, history, sociology, etc. They have won a number of research projects, including from the National Social Science Fund, National Social Science Later-stage Fund, Provincial and Ministerial social science Fund, Doctoral Fund projects, school level social science research projects, etc.
