Lecture by Prof. Yin Shuguang on Research History and Practical Significance of Being
At 2:30 pm on December 4, 2017, a lecture representing philosophical meaning, hosted by the School of Foreign Languages, was held in the Conference Room 1200 -Research History and Practical Significance of Being. The lecturer is Professor Yin Shuguang, from South China Normal University. Professor Yin Shuguang was once the director of Foreign Philosophy Research Center in Heilongjiang University and the vice president of the Contemporary Foreign Marxism Research Society of China. He is mainly engaged in Marxist philosophy and foreign Marxism research. Professor Yin is friendly, humorous and his language is simple but profound. He started its lecture from a single word and then launched a discussion on a classic philosophical issue.
Starting from the original Greek text of one poem, Professor Yin explained "Being" in a retrospective way. He said: "Being" can be traced back to the famous ancient Greek philosopher Parmenides, after research and development of many philosophers including Plato and Kant, the connotation of "Being" has been enriched. Next, Professor Yin combined works and opinions of many philosophers and continued to explain the development and evolution of "Being" in great detail; thus, in this way explained the important position of "Being" research in philosophical research. Finally, Professor Yin started from explaining the connotation of "Being", carried out a further analysis of its practical significance, and revealed the practical impact of "Being", which unfolded step by step, and caused people to think more about it.
Through this lecture, the audience members have a further understanding of the research on "Being" in philosophy, and they have also made clear the importance and practical significance of "Being" in philosophical development.
