On March 22, 2018, the School of Foreign Languages, Shenzhen University, hosted an inspiring lecture in the Conference Room 1200 of the Liberal Arts Building, namely "the Art of Naming: Analysis of the Title of Nietzsche’s Work-with Thus Spoke Zarathustra as an Example", at 14:00 p.m.
The lecture was given by Professor Zhang Hui, deputy head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Director of the Institute of Comparative Literature and Comparative Culture, Peking University; Vice President and Secretary General of China Comparative Literature Association, and Vice President of China Comparative Classics Association.
By cutting into the naming of two typical Nietzsche's works, Professor Zhang pointed out the originality of the naming of Nietzsche's works lies in that it not only reflects Nietzsche's personality, but also expresses ideas with its subtitles/titles. Starting from new critical theory and post-structuralist theory, Professor Zhang also introduced Nietzsche's skepticism, Dionysianism and other important topics of modern significance of "Thus Spoke Zarathustra" in a poetic and vivid way. What a feast of thoughts!
