    Academic Committee

    Rules of Procedure for SFL Professor Committee

    Article 1 The Professor committee is the decision-making advisory body of the School and an important part of the democratic management of the School.

    Article 2 The Professor committee is composed of all the appointed professors at the School. All the appointed professors are ex-officio members, but they shall indicate their own wishes in writing and participate voluntarily.

    Article 3 The Professor committee shall have one director and one deputy director; the director and deputy director shall be appointed by the School Affairs Meeting; the members of the current leading group of the School shall not be the director or deputy director.

    Article 4 The Tenure system shall be implemented for the director and deputy director of the Professor Committee. Each term of office is 2 years. In principle, the tenure shall not exceed two consecutive terms.

    Article 5 The Professor Committee of the School shall be presided over by the director; if necessary, the director may entrust the deputy director to preside over the work.

    Article 6 The secretary of the Professor Committee is usually concurrently held by the director of the School office.

    Article 7 Responsibilities of the Professor Committee include:
    (1) Review the development plan of the School;
    (2)Examine and approve the fund allocation plan for major discipline construction of the School;
    (3) Examine and approve the disciplinary construction and adjustment plans of the School;
    (4) Evaluate the research output and academic ability of teachers, including: recommending candidates for important academic organizations at home and abroad; recommending candidates for talent training programs such as Outstanding Young Scholars of Liyuan, Outstanding Scholars, New Century Talents, etc.;
    (5) Carry out preliminary examination on the candidates for the promotion of professional titles, and recommend qualified candidates to the Human Resources Committee of the School;
    (6) Adjudicate and deal with academic disputes and suspected academic misconduct;
    (7) Examine and approve the plans for setting up academic institutions in the School;
    (8) Discuss other important matters proposed by the Dean or jointly proposed by members of the Professor Committee.

    Article 8 The Professor Committee shall hold meetings according to the needs of its work.

    Article 9 The matters to be discussed and/or decided by the Professor Committee shall be proposed by the Dean or the director of the Professor Committee; more than five members may jointly propose the discussion topics within the scope of the Professor Committee's functions and powers.

    Article 10 The meeting of the Professor Committee shall be convened and presided over by the director, and more than two-thirds of the members shall be present. When voting, secret ballot shall be adopted, and the issue can only be passed with the approval of more than half of the members attending the meeting.

    Article 11 If the matters discussed and decided by The Professor Committee involve the members themselves or their relatives and other related persons that may affect impartiality, the committee members shall not attend the meeting.

    Article 12 the Secretary of the Professor Committee is responsible for recording the meeting process and resolutions, sorting out the meeting minutes and submitting them to the School.
