截止9月底,2023年度我院先后举办28场学术讲座,3场专题会议,1场全国外语学科竞赛。讲座嘉宾包括中国社会科学院学部委员、全国人大常委会委员、湖南师范大学“潇湘学者”特聘教授陈众议教授,国务院外语学科评议组成员、法国文学研究会会长、华东师范大学袁筱一教授,教育部大学外语教学指导委员会副主任委员法语分委会主任委员、上海外国语大学曹德明教授,翻译界泰斗、“翻译文化终身成就奖”获得者何道宽教授,上海交通大学人文学院院长王宁教授、清华大学陈永国教授等众多专家学者。

2023年1月新文科背景下外语学科创新实践与学术反思

本文从技术、人才和话语三个层面对全国高校外语新文科建设的技术赋能效果、人才培养模式和话语创新追求进行总结和反思。新技术应用拓展了外语研究的平台、领域和方法,在“器”的层面赋能外语教育及科研。国际复合型人才培养体系因应地缘政治变化,在“象”的层面提升外语学科内涵。中国话语的主体性追求,有助于矫正中西文化话语赤字,以实现外语学科健康发展之“道”。外语学科须超越对技术之“器”的依赖,通过言说自身文化立场和彰显自身文化基因,形成一套具有影响力的话语之“道”。
2023年1月 理论与实践的互构——“第47届国际系统功能语言学大会”暨“第18届全国语篇分析研讨会”综述

第47届国际系统功能语言学大会暨第18届全国语篇分析研讨会于2022年7月25日至27日顺利召开。大会的主题是“系统功能语言学及其应用——理论与实践的持续对话”,包括“理论与描写的拓展”“语法隐喻”“学科英语”“多模态研究”“生态语言学”“法律语言学”等分支议题。本次大会展现了系统功能语言学在理论和应用方面的前沿动态:理论研究拓展了原有的理论范畴,推进了副语言语义框架的建构,阐释了自身的学理和范式,同时兼顾国际本土化和方法创新;应用研究则着眼于学科性和新媒体时代特征,关注全球社会发展和时事,突出理论在语言教学实践中的适用性。
2023年1月 约卡伊·莫尔《下个世纪的小说》中的亚洲与西方乌托邦

本文从乌托邦话语的地方文化面向这一角度分析了19世纪匈牙利重要小说家约卡伊·莫尔的《下个世纪的小说》。文本描述了未来人类的奋斗,其目标是建立完美的全球统一体。小说叙事嵌入了两种不同的小型乌托邦。欧式乌托邦“奥桑”显露出民族资本主义梦想的特征;中亚乌托邦“金藏”起先显现于中国历史文献中,与殖民主义式的色托邦形式类似。随后,全知叙述者宣称“金藏”的中式形象有误,并着力呈现它的“真实”面。“金藏”面临的基本问题,即封闭环境中不断增长人口的可持续性,正是当前生态批评的焦点。文本的独特性在于,它对各种(西方的和东方的)乌托邦传统进行了实验。为了凸显东西比较,本文还讨论了约卡伊笔下的其他乌托邦,以及作者中国文化的知识来源。
2023年1月在“小”历史与“大”历史之间——《莎士比亚在分裂中的美国》述评

美国哥伦比亚大学詹姆斯·夏皮罗教授于2020年出版新著《莎士比亚在分裂中的美国》,围绕美国历史上八个标志性年份中莎士比亚剧作被阅读、改编和研究的大量史料,分析了包括阶级、种族、性别等在内的观念分歧如何成为美国国家身份建构过程中的重要驱动力。该书拓展了文学研究中有关历史材料的选材范畴,从莎剧在美国改编的生产、传播和接受过程研究其背后不同价值观念的角力,从而在众多“小”历史叙事中体察有关国家命运的“大”历史的走向。
2023年2月 超越亚里士多德诗学开创的研究传统———申丹的“ 双重叙事进程” 理论述论

小说的情节发展是西方文学批评的传统关注点ꎬ国内的叙事研究也一直围绕情节、人物、背 景等要素展开申丹首次在叙事研究中提出“双重叙事进程”的理论ꎬ打破了这一叙事中自亚里士 多德以降的传统受到了国际叙事学界的关注。本文阐述了申丹“双重叙事进程”的发展过程理论内涵,该理论与诸多类似理论概念的区分以及这一理论对叙事学、文体学、翻译学等诸学科的贡献以期引起国内文学批评界对这一理论的更多关注、应用及评论促使其在批评实践中得到进一步发展与完善。
2023年2月《里尔克“布里格手记”中的语言观》

《布里格手记》是德语诗人莱纳·马利亚·里尔克唯一的长篇小说,小说中的许多段落都可以解读为诗人对语言问题的反思。本文通过分析小说的若干叙事片段,从弱化所指内容、关注话语行为等角度,探讨里尔克的语言态度,并在此基础上进一步追问语言自身的逻辑和尺度对诗人提出的要求。
2023年2月 中缅边境安全协同治理:现有体系、实践困境与优化路径

边境安全是国家安全的重要维度,边境安全治理是国家安全治理的重要内容。协同治理为边境安全治理提供新的理论视角与实践路径。当前,中缅边境安全协同治理初具雏形,形成了主体、机制和技术三个层面的协同关系。中缅边境安全协同治理在具体实践过程中存在主体性困境、制度性困境、效能性困境和资源性困境。构建中缅边境安全协同治理新理念、优化中缅边境安全协同治理机制、提高中缅边境安全协同治理主体能力、拓展中缅边境安全协同治理外部环境是提升中缅边境安全协同治理成效的重要路径。
2023年4月 文化自信的百年叙事:中国比较文学学科发展回顾与展望

本文首先回顾中国比较文学的肇始、起步、沉寂、复兴和繁荣等五阶段历程,综述主要成果,勾勒中国比较文学百年来以中华民族凝聚力为精神纽带和构筑文化自信的历史脉络。其次,概述比较文学复兴以来在学科建设方面的成就,全面检视相关的学术机构、学术活动、学科设置,以及本、硕、博人才培养诸方面的体制化建设,通过梳理半个世纪以来中国学派建构的探讨与争鸣,阐释其跨文化学科内涵与理论构建对文化自信命题的回应,据此反思和展望如何提升中国学派的理论体系与研究方法。最后,本文强调,中国比较文学学者当立足中国语境,直面(逆)全球化现实,大力加强中国比较文学学科体系、学术体系和话语体系建设,在百年未有之大变局中,赓续文化自信的百年叙事,朝着文化他信、文化互信和文化共信的终点砥砺前行。
2023年4月 粤港澳大湾区智慧城市群建设拓展我国城市高水平对外开放圈层格局

党的二十大报告中指出,要“以城市群、都市圈为依托构建大中小城市协调发展格局”“打造宜居、韧性、智慧城市”。智慧城市群是在城市空间视域下探讨科技赋能城市发展的新表征、新动向、新趋势。作为一个发展共同体,智慧城市群本质上是一个整体的区域空间单元,是在城市协同发展的基础上更高层次空间的组织集群模式。智慧城市群与城市对外开放有何关联?本文以粤港澳智慧大湾区智慧城市群为重点研究案例,提出多圈层辐射的发展格局。粤港澳大湾区城市群是目前为止中国对外开放程度以及智慧发展基础最高的区域城市群之一,其建设的核心内容是以智慧科技推动构建以粤港澳为中心,互利合作、优势互补的三圈层辐射发展格局,最终建成充满活力的世界级城市群。
2023年4月 大易视角下翻译距离的成因与调整原则探讨——以闵福德英译《易经》为例

《周易》弥纶天地之道,蕴涵丰富的哲学思想。文章援易入译并以闵福德英译《易经》为例,阐明翻译是一个涉及“言—象—意”和“意—象—言”多级生发的思维过程,其间原作发生变形,翻译距离由此而生。为适当调整翻译距离,译者应以“致中和”为指归,遵循“适旨、适性、适变、适度”的“四适”原则,灵活运用各种译法、译技,使翻译距离产生翻译之美。
2023年5月 母职惩罚的实践过程及对其作用逻辑的反思——基于法国组织社会学视角的考察

本文尝试通过组织社会学法国学派的策略分析方法对一个二孩工作母亲进行个案分析,呈现职业机构为保证自身安排以多种形式管理女性职工的请假请求,使其在协调工作和母职的关系时陷入困境;而女性职工利用单位规章、法律条文和第三方组织等为自己争取平衡工作和母职的机会,虽协调成功但为后续的职业发展带来了不利影响。本文发现,职场女性在孕产哺时期难以有效消解工作和母职的冲突,其根源在于职业机构普遍缺乏制度化条款对女性孕产哺时期的工作予以协调,即缺乏人力与物力来应对孕产哺时期女性职工的缺席。当职业机构在制度和资源上没有做好准备来应对女性职工的母职实践给工作带来的不稳定性时,其后果大多转嫁到女性职工个体身上,从而构成了母职惩罚。
2023年6月 美国“丝绸之路生物监测网络”对我国西部边疆的安全影响

“一带一路”倡议正式启动的同时,美国国防威胁降低局有针对性地策划成立了“丝绸之路生物监测网络”,试图依托自身的生物霸权与技术优势对冲中国在“一带一路”沿线国家的影响力拓展。伴随着“丝绸之路生物监测网络”的持续扩张,各类生物组织与病毒实验室林立于我国西部周边,不仅加剧了边疆地区面临的生化安全风险,同时也会在政治渗透中日益弱化中国与“一带一路”沿线国家合作的互信基础。然而,目前国内的生物安全研究过于内向聚焦,缺乏“命运共同体”视野下的全球安全意识,即使是我国所倡导的“一带一路”倡议也没有认识到沿线国家对生物安全治理需求的迫切性。对此,本文着眼于美国“丝绸之路生物监测网络”的组织建设进程,研析其对“一带一路”沿线国家的渗透与扩张能力,由此透析我国西部边疆以及“一带一路”可能面临的生物安全风险与政治冲击,从而弥补目前国内的研究空白。
2023年7月 跨文化交流中命名的文化建构:以18世纪欧洲人对植物的命名为例

本文以18世纪欧洲人用拉丁文对世界其他地区的植物进行命名和分类为历史线索,讨论语言与欧洲殖民扩张过程中的文化同一性建构之间的关系问题。研究发现,语言命名通常会以非语境化的方式将陌生事物纳入命名者所熟悉的认知系统中,并进而引发知识生产和跨文化认同。本文认为命名问题较为复杂,只有结合特定的历史语境对具体个案进行综合分析,才能在跨文化交流中辨别语言转换背后的观念形态和话语策略。
2023年8月 试论20世纪以降法国文学中的记忆诗学

以法国历史学家诺拉主编的《记忆之场》为代表的记忆研究引领了人文社会科学界的记忆转向,从而为探究法国文学的记忆书写提供了新视角。20世纪以降,法国文学随着自身的发展而呈现出多样化的记忆书写形式,通过界定“记忆诗学”的概念范畴来重审法国文学史,可以提炼出普鲁斯特主客体交融的“感觉式的诗性记忆”、塞利纳激发情感的“审丑意识式的狂欢记忆”、布托尔注重城市变迁的“有意识重构式的艺术化记忆”、罗伯-格里耶动态性的“自传式的杂糅化记忆”、勒克莱齐奥重塑家园与自我的“生发式的史诗化记忆”,以及莫迪亚诺召唤难以捉摸的人类命运的“侦探性的既视式记忆”。由此构筑起规模宏大、意象生动的记忆诗学图景,为当下建构记忆诗学理论、提供文学批评新路径打下实践性基础。
2023年1月 Introduction to the special issue Revisiting aptitude testing for interpreting
INTERPRETER AND TRANSLATOR TRAINER 尚小奇
Aptitude testing plays an important role in interpreter training as it helps to screen prospective trainee interpreters, ensuring the quality of training. However, there has been scant interest in this line of inquiry among interpreting scholars. This special issue focuses on the conceptualisation of aptitude and exploration of the predictive validity of aptitude testing batteries or components for interpreting performance from multiple theoretical perspectives using a wide array of methodologies. Firstly, Han's meta-analysis provides a comprehensive methodological overview of the current research on predictive validity of aptitude testing for interpreting. Next, Hlavac's survey-based study focuses on the conceptualisation of interpreting aptitude by incorporating multi-stakeholder views. The ensuing three empirical studies by Liu and Zhang, Shang and Xie and Lu and Liu have explored the predictive validity of the tests that were replicated, currently used and self-designed respectively. The last three studies, by Su, Xu, and Song and Li, adopt an aptitude-treatment paradigm to explore the different effects of aptitude components, such as learners' emotions and cognitive fluency, on interpreting performance under different treatment conditions. These eight articles are expected to stir the research community's interest in aptitude testing for interpreting, a highly relevant yet significantly under-examined area in interpreting studies.
2023年2月 A prosodic comparison of two types of response tokens in Mandarin Chinese and English

We present an investigation of the phonetic characteristics of the response tokens yeah (English) and dui (Mandarin) which, in spoken conversation, can be used either as backchannel items (not initiating a new turn) or as reply tokens (taking the floor). On the basis of two telephone corpora, we investigate whether there are prosodic differences (specif-ically: pitch, duration, and intensity) between these two types of uses. We find that the most consistent prosodic cue that distinguishes the two, both in Mandarin and English, is intensity, with mixed results for pitch and no role for duration in either language. The pragmatic difference between a reply and a backchannel token is thus signalled by its position in the sequence but reinforced by prosodic means. The way in which this is achieved, i.e. by intensity, involves the cue that is the least likely to upset existing lexical contrasts, both in English and Mandarin. (c) 2022 Elsevier B.V. 2023年2月 A Larger Perspective on Nepal’s Transitional Strategy to Graduate from Less Developing Countries (LDC) to Developing Country (DC)

Given the fact that Nepal is right on the cusp of exclusively graduating fromthe Less Development Countries (LDC) category to Developing Countries, as the assessment by the United Nations. It is time to reorient, revamp, and re-caliber Nepal’s policies to achieve the sustainable, fair, just, and inclusive growth that Nepal and its people so aptly deserve. Nepal has opted to graduate in a peculiar time, where the world seems to be facing huge impending problems such as climate change which has fundamentally changed how we view development as a process. Nepal is eligible to secure graduation with two criteria human assessment index (HAI), and the environmental vulnerability index (EVI). For most of the process, in modern times, Nepal has mostly been reliant on its development partners and donors to catch up, mostly because this old historic state has always been rather reactive in terms of disruptive transformations of the industrial age. Now Nepal has caught significantly up to a threshold that it can begin to forge its path ahead for the development and realization of its national goal. For this, the time to think bigger, and larger and the time to compete with the world has arrived. Nepal should find a way forward that stays true not only to its rich heritage, identity, history, and resources but also to match its development mechanism, framework, and process largely with the world, as the development paradigms transit to a sustainable mode of development, given the backdrop of human-induced climate change. In such a scenario, the paper tries to highlight the need for a “pivot” in the Nepalese economy for a sustainable LDC transition for larger national rejuvenation. It tries to show how a pivot strategy in such a reality would look that matches such complexity and nuances of modern times and likewise puts the transition in perspective.
2023年2月 Vocabulary learning in a foreign language: multimedia input, sentence-writing task, and their combination

This article examines the effects of task conditions (i.e., with and without a sentence writing task ) , multimedia input (definition only, definition + information, definition + information + videos), and combinations of these two variables on the learning gains of new words. This study involved a 2 x 3 research design. In total, 235 Chinese EFL learners were allocated to the sixconditions. Vocabulary learning outcomes were measured by pre- and post-tests on 24 target items. The results showed that the definition + information + videos group scored significantly higher than the definition + information and the definition-only groups. Additionally, the sentence-writing task increased the effectivenessof vocabulary learning versus the condition without this task. The combination of the definition + information + videos condition and sentence-writing task was identified as the most effective technique for learning lexical items. This study highlighted the effectiveness ofcombining multimedia input with a sentence-writing task to learn new words. Relevant teaching and theoretical implications were also discussed.
2023年3月 Towards a comprehensive model of style-shifting: Evidence from sibilant variation in Mandarin

Research on style-shifting has shifted from more responsive models to one that prioritizes speaker agency. However, recent work suggests that cognitive and sociocultural factors influence intra-speaker variation in tandem. This study contributes to the literature by investigating the interplay between task, audience, and attitudinal effects on the style -shifting of/s/and/s/by Southern Mandarin speakersliving in Beijing. Historically merged in Southern Mandarin, the two phonemes are undergoing a lexical split. Speakers exhibit greater/s/-/s/contrast in wordlist than in conversation andtheir/s/production is predicted by an interaction between task, audience and Beijing orientation. High socialsalience of the sibilant merger/split also adds to the growing evidence that social meaning can be associated with structural phonological relations.(c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd. 2023年3月 An investigation of Chinese EFL learners' acceptance of mobile dictionaries in English language learning

The enormous importance of second language learning, paired with the rapid development of mobile-assisted language learning, has led to the increasing use of mobile dictionaries by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners at Chinese universities. Although many studies have explored the role of dictionaries in English language learning, fewhave investigated mobile dictionaries (MDs) from learners’ perspectives. This study aimed to explore Chinese EFL learners’ acceptance of three types of MDs: monolingual, bilingualised and bilingual. A total of 125 participants used mobile dictionaries in various English learning contexts, especially in reading comprehension and vocabulary learning. Adapted from the Technology Acceptance Model and the mobile technology evaluation framework, the questionnaire in this study addressed three key themes: (1) perceived ease of use, (2) perceived usefulness, and (3) behavioural intention to use. Analysis shows that the bilingualised MD group reported the most positive perceptions, especially compared to the bilingual MD group. A total of 101 participants participated in semi-structured group interviews tofurther explore the reasons underlying their perceptions.Several factors impacting learner acceptance, from the micro to the macro level, are proposed and discussed. As an interdisciplinary study, this research fills theoretical and empirical gaps in investigating mobile-assisted language learning. It offers application designers and language teachers insights into learners’ acceptance of MDs. Moreover, it provides recommendations concerning making MDs more personalised, attractive and effective.
2023年3月 Trilingualism, Education and Ethnic Language Subjectivities

This study investigates the subjectivities of tertiary students in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZAR) of the People's Republic of China. Specifically, we investigate self-reported language practices and attitudes in relation to identities in a language ecology with three prominent languages (Zhuang, Standard Chinese [Putonghua], and English). This mixed methods study shows that despite the population size and some educational support, Zhuang language vitality is challenged through subjectivities linked to promotion of Putonghua and Zhuang specific factors (e.g. script and dialectal variations). In addition, the data show multiple interpretations of what mother tongue might mean to people in this region, including those of Zhuang ethnicity. The study leads to insights on multilingualism in this region. It also suggests that a language ecologyapproach is useful for understanding subjectivities as multifaceted, with multiple influences, helping us better understand why implementation of national policies or community supports on their own are insufficient for language maintenance efforts.
2023年3月 Investigating Sight translation as a Predictor of Interpreting Performance

Sight translation has been widely used inaptitude testing to screen prospective trainee interpreters at leading interpreter training schools, including ESIT, ISIT, and EMCI. However, it has also been criticised for its lack of validity and reliability. No empirical study has thus far been conducted to explore its power to predict interpreting performance. To fill this gap, the present study adopts a data-driven approach to explore the predictive validity of sight translation for interpreting performance in both consecutive and simultaneous modes. A total of 33 graduate trainee interpreters (A language: Chinese; B language: English) enrolled in an interpreting pro-gramme of a leading Chinese university were tracked over the course of one and a half academic years. Two raters (A language: Chinese; B language: English) were asked to assess their performance based on the criteria of fidelity, language, and delivery. Statistical analyses suggest that, irrespective of language direction, the participants’ performance in sight translation was not predictive of their performance in either consecutive or simultaneous interpreting. This study provides much-needed empirical evidence for the development, administration, and assessment of aptitude testing for interpreting and interpreter training at large.
2023年4月 Adaptation of melodic intonation therapy to a tone language: A pilot study of tone-rhythmic therapy in Mandarin Chinese

Introduction:
Although melodic intonation therapy(MIT) has proven effective in individuals with non-fluent aphasia in a variety of western languages, its application in Mandarin-speaking aphasic patients has not been thoroughly studied. The adaptation is complicated because Mandarin Chinese is a tone language with specific prosodic elements that differ from Indo-European languages. This study developed a Chinese-specific variant of melodic intonation therapy, i.e., Tone-rhythmic therapy (TRT), and tested its efficacy in individuals with non-fluent aphasia. Methods: Six non-fluent aphasic patients were recruited; all of them were admitted to the study over six months after stroke and had received a standard program of language therapy. In the current research, tone and rhythmic training were incorporated into the training procedures, and the adaptation was then examined in patients. The TRT treatment lasted six weeks, with five fifty-minute sessions per week. The Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Examination (BDAE) and the Functional Assessment of Communication Skills for Adults (FACS) tests were used to measure the change in the speech and language skills of patients.
Results: The results showed that the patients had increased BDAE and FACS scores after intervention and the treatment effect lasted for six months.
Discussion: The modified MIT proved effective for Mandarin-speaking patients with non-fluent aphasia with lasting effect. Further studies evaluating its efficacy are needed for other types of aphasia and other tone languages.
2023年5月 Hungarian writers in the interwar USA: the fiction of József Reményi and Áron Tamási

In the Interwar period, Jozsef Remenyi (1891-1956) and aron Tamasi (1897-1966) wrote fiction about the experience of Hungarian immigrants in the USA. Remenyi immigrated before WWI and made his residence permanent after his naturalization, whereas Tamasi moved to the USA in 1923 but returned to his homeland in 1926. The paper contrasts their personal experiences as immigrants in America, discusses their descriptions of Hungarian immigrant life in general, and analyzes their representation strategies. In their representations of the immigrant experience, family relationships, cultural community, language, race, and the motivation to undergo a spiritual quest are all central. Their narrative techniques are somewhat innovative and characterized by discontinuity.
2023年5月 Translations of Alice in Wonderland in the Sinosphere

Despite a substantial body of scholarship on translations into different languages of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, studies of Chinese translations tend to neglect the more recent and shared translational trends across the Chinese-speaking world. While translations of the complete text establish the book's reputation by faithfully recreating Alice's outward adventure, partial translations have emerged in a larger number and enjoyed tremendous popularity. Some of these adapt the source story into a tale of homecoming. Comparing five selected translations in detail, I delve into the translation strategies employed in them to find out how and to what extent the original story is changed. The rationales behind these translations and the changes are discussed through the lens of dual poetics, i.e., the role of translation conceived in the target system of children's literature and the translators' child image. It finds that the choice between a full or partial rendering of the original is determined by the changing views of translation in the receiving system. At the same time, degrees of adaptation are almost entirely subject to the translators' multidimensional concepts of children.
2023年8月 Does Solar-Powered Irrigation System Usage Increase the Technical Efficiency of Crop Production? New Insights from Rural Areas

Fossil fuel and electricity-powered irrigation techniques boost the water availability expense and increase greenhouse gas emissions. Especially in developing countries, solar-powered irrigation is becoming more popular as a response to the growing energy and environmental issues associated with agriculture systems. The existing study used data from 1080 wheat farmers in Balochistan, Pakistan, to investigate the impact of solar-powered irrigation system (SPIS) usage on the technical efficiency (TE) of wheat production. The TE of wheat production is estimated using a stochastic frontier production function, and the potential self-selectivity bias is addressed using an endogenous switching regression model. The findings indicated that 13.7% of the wheat cultivators assessed used SPISs to produce their crops. Using an endogenous switching regression model shows that SPIS usage increases the TE of wheat growers by 6.657%, after controlling for self-selection bias. While using SPISs, wheat farmers with large farms and farming familiarity had stronger positive effects on TE. The results highlight the need for more investigation and research into evidence-based good practice for SPIS solutions at the site level to ensure that the rollout of modern equipment not only drives the energy sector forward but also contributes significantly to our level playing field and sustainable environment.
2023年9月 Authenticating ‘mother tongue’ in a multilingual minority community

This study examines mother tongue in a multilingual region which includes a national language, a recognised ethnic minority language, and multiple other minority languages (including so-called ‘dialects’) and English. We probe into practices and perceptions of one designated ethnic minority group in China across domains of family, community and education through a process of authentication. Drawing on a questionnaire of 576 students with local, multilingual education experience and interviews with 48 students of the Zhuang minority group, we examine the intersubjectivities of language, ethnicity and Chineseness. The findings highlight an unwavering affirmation of Putonghua (PTH) dominance as central to Chineseness along with wavering support of Zhuang and other minority languages or dialects as linked to ethnicity and regional identity. Crucially, our data show that the policies and ideologies around recognised minority languages can make it difficult for speakers to name or claim their ‘mother tongue’. The analyses suggest that ‘mother tongue’ is a misnomer in many ways as it is not primordial, matrilineal or geneological but is based in (primarily monolingual) ideologies which do not adequately represent multilingual individuals and communities. We propose a conceptual framework to expand our understanding of the authentication of mother tongue and the resilience of minority/minoritised language, problematised by monolingual ideologies.
2023年9月 Cross-culture,translation and post-aesthetics: Chinese online literatur-e in/as world literatur-e in the Internet era

As defined by Michel Hockx, Chinese online literature is “Chinese-language writing, either in established literary genres or in innovative literary forms, written especially for publication in an interactive online context and meant to be read on-screen” (2015, 22). Since its birth in the 1990s, it has grown rapidly to becomea new form of Chinese literature, with genre fiction as its mainstream. It not only has a large number of loyal fan-readers in China, but has also become increasingly popular among international readers by being translated into many languages and circulated in different countries. Some scholars have even pointed out that, following Hollywood movies, Japanese animation and Korean dramas, it has become the fourth largest cultural phenomenon in the world (Ouyang and He 2019, 180). In order to address the relevance of Chinese online literature to the topic of world literature and national literature, this article will sort out its origin and history, its translation and circulation, and its doings with the concept of canon. It argues that Chinese online literature is a representation of cross-cultural writing in the Internet era, a web-based world literature with translation and circulation as its fundamental premise, and a heterotopian and post-aesthetic model deconstructing the idea of canon, which together creates a literary space of challenging, breaking through and transcending the literary theories and ideological values of traditional world literature, and rewriting the existing order and standards of world literature. The study of Chinese online literature will help us better understand the relationship between world literature and national literature in this changing world.
